We chose to use battery operated tea lights instead of the edison bulbs.

They use over 120 hanging bulbs 24 bulb. Originally posted july 2012 they started with 200 lightbulbs on the stage. Plus we have limited power and were concerned with popping circuits. As it turns out it gives a really soft glow on stage.

We used a template to space and drill the holes stained the front with espresso stain added standard sockets and wired the back. It is a product of the continued improvements edison made to the 1879 bulb. The base or socket on this 19th century lamp is similar to the ones still used today. The inspiration for this set came from some cool live band sets they ve seen around the web vertical church band bon iver etc where bulbs were attached to pipes and arranged at various depths around the stage and band members.

Adam carmichael from santa cruz bible church in santa cruz brings us these light poles. The edison lamp from our attic is dated january 27 1880. We went with edison bulbs for a vintage look and more of a warm amber hue.
